AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE IN THE LIFT WITH NIXON: Well I was told by Nixon that I should blog about the lift incident that we had when we were working in Raffles Hotel. It all started with two of us walking into the old staff lift and the door closed. There were only the two of us in there... ... and imagine what's going to happen next... NO IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK! WE DID NOT RAPE EACH OTHER! So we had nothing to do so Nixon started narrating his horror story. Somemore the lift was old and it's able to create an atmosphere that really freaked me out. Well I've always been afraid of listening to Nixon's stupid horror story so I need to come up with a way to shut him up. I just stretched and waved my hands close to his face in attempt to shut him up so he was like 'STOP IT! STOP IT!' And he kinda stopped narrating his story. But in order to prevent him from starting a new one, I continued doing that until the lift opened and I rushed out of the lift immediately like a monster chasing behind me LOLS. Okay here was the convo I had with Nixon just now regarding this incident: JJC LOL says: *LOL! *oh yah *u shld blog about de lift incident ma ĸ ee an says: *so that 'friends' you talking about inthe description is me la JJC LOL says: *u dam funny *no la *that one oso nth ĸ ee an says: *about the scary one? JJC LOL says: *lol *hiok shian sis Okay the last part was redundant but I just pasted it here for fun LOL. Boring Sunday... I went out with my parents today again. Well at least I don't have to fork out any money to buy anything when I'm out with them LOL. Anyway we had brunch at a hawker centre in Marsiling. It was a mixture of charsiew, shaorou, and duck meat. I was cutting all the fats out while I was eating LOL. I couldn't differentiate between meat and fats in shaorou so I just ate the whole thing without digging the fats out. Then we went to Marina Square to shop. Actually the only place which we went to shop was the boring ol' John Little. My parents never fail to visit John Little when they go to Marina Square or Jurong Point. After that we took a rest at the Coffee Club and I ordered their Passionfruit Smoothie, quite nice and it's a good drink to quench my thirst. My mother had a small cake which cost $6 and I was like O.O when I learned about the price. I think my she's an extravagant cake-eater who doesn't even consider the price of the cakes that she eats. But anyway I think she likes life to be like this haha, relaxed and classy(?) LOL. Before that she was looking at the menu and telling me that she wanted Iced Mong-ka. I was like WHAT?! ICED MONG-KA?! It's quite funny but irritating at the same time because she always pronounced it as 'mong-ka' for the word 'mocha' despite our constant corrections to her pronunciation. In the end I had to order for my parents, sigh. When our drinks came, we were observing how the waiter served us because I worked at Raffles Hotel as hotel staff so it has become a habit for us to observe how waiters serve. Then my parents told me that the waiter's hands were trembling when he put the drinks down LOL. He's probably a newbie, or 'hand-trembler' like Nixon haha. Who cares if the hand trembles or not, I just want my smoothie served. After that we headed to my uncle's house. And I found out a shocking and disappointing truth: I'm 49.1kg heavy. DAMN IT! Now I'm in the 40s already! I'm not even 50kg heavy! It's either I didn't eat a lot when I was working or much of my body fats were lost while working. I hope it's the latter LOL. I think I'm seriously seriously underweight D: SOMEONE SAVE ME PLEASE! Sometimes I suspect myself to be mildly anorexic, BUT, I don't have to mentality to be skinny or over-skinny like an anorexic! So I'm not then... I think I shouldn't go for jogging sessions already, because I heard that jogging will only increase one's metabolism rate. If my metabolism rate keeps increasing, I really don't know what will happen to my body. Another reason might be illness or worms in my intestines(CHOI!), but I don't think so ba... I think I should go for a medical checkup D: Okay then we went to Bukit Timah hawker centre to have our dinner. I had Kimchi Ramen! I should introduce my erjie to eat that since she kinda likes to eat korean kimchi instant noodle. After that we went home and end of story. Bye! Saturday, January 30, 2010
I just did a multiple intelligence test and the results are as shown: I was thinking: 75% musical... So that means I should take up the MEP? lols, definitely not. Next I was looking at the shortest bar, which isn't shown in the chart for don't know what reason. The shortest bar is Verbal/Linguistic. I was like phew, thank goodness I'm not interested in ELL and I know why I always stutter when talking to people whom I'm unfamiliar with. My verbal intelligence is at a pathetic 35%. I've taken other personality test and the results are ISFJ(Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging) Lols sounds so sian. It's said that ISFJ is the Defender and there's a short description of ISFJ: 'ISFJs are traditional, loyal, quiet and kind. They are very sensitive to other people's needs because they are very observant. They have rich inner thoughts and emotions. They value stability and cultural norms. They are very adept at giving attention to detail. They do not seek positions of authority.' LOL traditional... sounds old, but nevermind at least I'm not going to have a modern mind like agreeing to pre-marital sex at the age of 18 hahaha. Just joking. I think I'm beginning to be a little open to new people during the orientation periods in the past two days. I tried to be as sociable as I could and of course, make new friends. Fortunately, everything turned out to be fine and I guess the tensed up atmosphere in my og is beginning to disappear as time passed. I hope the next time I do the personality test, the word 'quiet' doesn't appear in the results or description haha. Bye! Friday, January 29, 2010
Second day of school in ACJC: Today's morning assembly was short and one of my ogl called Han made an advertisement during the assembly. He was soo funny singing Bad Romance(I think) but anyway he's in choir. I was like o.o when I knew that he was from choir haha. The first part of the day was dedicated to introductory lectures. I went for Chemistry, Math, Econs, GP and KI lectures. Chemistry was okay, except that the topics that we have to learn for H2 Chemistry were quite daunting(for me). Math was worse, H2 Math looked so difficult till I think I would die studying H2 Math. H1 Math looked rather similar to A-math but I would want to take up H2 Math even though it's more difficult. Then Econs, the lecturer was quite crazy in a sense that she kept rushing through her slides and speaking like a machine gun, then she kept warning us not to take up Econs if we have no interest in it. After that most of the people in my og went down for lunch. I went to buy chicken chop rice with Terrence and it was like damn ex. The chicken chop rice itself cost $2.30, and I added wedges. Guess how much the amount of wedges worth $0.60 in Nanhua costs in ACJC? HOLY $1.00! I gave the auntie a $5 note and I got a change of $1.70. I was like calculating and re-calculated for like don't know how many times until it dawned on me that the wedges actually cost me $1. I was like sian diao... I was expecting it to cost around not more than $0.80. Furthermore, the wedges were cold and soggy, hate it. During the lunch break, one of the ogl, Crystal, were asking us about our subject combinations. So I told her about mine and she talked about taking Geography and one of her subjects. She said the H1 Geography is almost the same like the Geography we learn in upper sec. So I was like ooo, sounds pretty easy. She also said it's easy LOL. Then Wanpin or whoever was saying that her sister took General Studies in Chinese(GSC) in JC and said it was quite easy. The reason why I'm talking about GSC is because I'm considering to take up GSC! Lols. Han told me that GSC can substitute GP then I was like stunned '.' Then we went up to LT for GP/KI introductory lectures. Well I fell asleep and slept throughout the lectures LOL. So shuang la, I felt so refreshed after I woke up, which was the time when we were about to leave the LT. Nevermind, then we went to play some games among ourselves without the ogl around. Janell was super enthu and kept leading the og to play games and blahblah. We played some games like 007, and what mm-jiji-mm-ji game taught by Han and some others. Quite fun acutally. In the end Terrence and Wanping had to do forfeit because they lost 3 times. The forfeit was to do a chicken dance in front of the other groups, which didn't really cared about Terrence and Wanping while they were doing the dance. After that we headed to the hall for a small skit by the clan leaders and a funny video. Then we went to the void deck to learn our mass dance. Man, it's the hardest dance I've ever learnt. Even Abracadabra or Sign is much easier than this dance LOL. Then we learned some cheers which some I couldn't even catch a phrase. Terrence and I were like singing NCC songs in the middle of the cheers, so random. It's time for us to assemble at the bleachers so we went reached there quite early. We played a short game with another og before settling down. Next up was the mass rally whereby all the og and clans come together and cheer. WOOHOO it was much much higher and people were much more enthu today. I just loved the atmosphere :D I was shouting and screaming at the top of my voice la! I even compared who had a scream with higher pitch with Bernice then I won LOL. Then she asked me to join choir HAHAHA. Crazy. The way we shout and scream was hurting our throats very badly and I suppose choir don't sing by shouting and screaming right? But anyway I was quite high, even though it began raining all of a sudden. I think it only made the ogl more high than ever hahaha. After that we had a small talk with our ogl for a while, something like a debrief. I was quite glad that our ogl were quite happy with our high-ness and enthusiasm today hehe. Then Janell was asking me what CCA I'm going to join so I said volleyball. She wanted xcountry and she told me that there might not be any audition or time trial for xcountry, so I was quite happy because I might want to join xcountry if I didn't manage to get into volleyball. Then I left the school happily, unlike yesterday, I left the school with a I-don't-want-to-go-to-school-tomorrow feeling. I think I'm more or less sure about what subjects to take up already. They are BCMG+(probably)GSC. I have to attend the introductory lecture next Monday or go for subject counselling with regards to GSC. I'm afraid that I won't be able to cope with and extra H1 but anyway, I'll try my best to do so if I'm taking GSC. I shall go now. Bye! Thursday, January 28, 2010
First day of school in ACJC: We were greeted by JC2 students the moment we stepped into the school through the main gate. I could only hear cheerings like 'WELCOME TO AC!' along the path from the main gate all the way to the entrance of the hall. I was like wow, so high, and Wenya kept laughing at them haha. We were quite late when we settled down in the hall but anyway, who cares, we are the newbies. After that there were many talks all the way till about 12 plus. The best moment came when all the ogl from the 4 different clans came and put up small performances for us. It's quite spectacular I'll say. I can feel how high those seniors were while they were dancing so crazily and enthusiastically. I was anticipating lots of fun afterwards, but it didn't really turn out to be as expected. I couldn't really get used to the AC culture whereby every person (I mean seniors only) are super high and almost all speak english. I rarely hear people speak Chinese there. It's kind of like a torture for me to speak English to people especially when speaking to a person with an accent. Hence I had to add a little of unnatural angmoh accent when I speak and I really don't like it (also due to occasional stutters). I think I'll be able to get used to these kind of things as time goes by. I was separated from all my close friends in AC due to the distribution of students in the clan and ogs. I was in the same og with Charmaine but the both of us didn't really talk to one another. She also didn't interact much with other people in the og but I managed to make some new friends in my og hehe. We are not very close but at least we know the names and a little more information about one another. The only activity I enjoyed was the Double Wacko, probably it's kinda exciting and I wasn't hit thanks to a pro girl called Melissa. Other activities were still okay but they were kind of boring, I mean for people who are like 17 years old... those kind of activities used to entertain Sec1s during OC no longer work on us anymore. So they emphasised more on cheers and I actually enjoyed cheering along with my clan or together with other clans, very cool. Furthermore, they were really very energetic and enthusiastic. Fortunately I didn't lose my voice shouting lols. The whole orientation event for the day finally ends at about 6.15pm. Actually I felt a little guilty for not being so high and enthusiastic about those activities and cheers because I think those seniors, especially my ogl, have put in lots of effort in organising the activities and trying to make us more bonded. Well anyway, I hope tomorrow will be a better day (: I'M SO EXHAUSTED! Wednesday, January 27, 2010
A brand new blog for a brand new journey :D I'll leave my freakinggreen blog to rot and for me to reminisce while this-rendezvous blog will be active starting tomorrow. I think I will be very nervous when I step into a new school campus tomorrow. My hands will turn clammy(they always do) and maybe start worrying about useless stuff. Hopefully with some Nanhua friends around, I'll be able to get over my nervousness. I've gathered enough news and there are more than 10 people whom I know are going to ACJC :D I was very happy to know that some good friends like Honghan, Wenya, Liying and Kuaiwen are going to the same JC as me. So far I haven't heard of many guys going to ACJC, probably only Cheechoong and Kangwei. Anyway I'll be able to know who are the people from Nanhua tomorrow haha. See ya! All the best to those who are going for the JC orientation tomorrow! |
